1. We began the process of creating our video by outlining our ideas on a storyboard. Then, we collected materials such as grapes, googly eyes, fishing line, tape, and hot glue. We created a sturdy and stable method for filming and holding our phone. Then, we went through the different scenes of our film, filming piece by piece as our grape rolled across the table and through different obstacles. Each picture showed only a small movement in our grape. After completing that, we added sounds to our piece and posted our video to youtube! 2. We used anticipation by indicating our grape's movement with his eye motion. We used arcs by moving the hand in an arc as it brought the grape to the mouth. We used timing to make things appear slower or faster. Lastly, we used appeal to make our character endearing. 3. I enjoy stop motion! It is a fun way to get away from looking at a computer for too long, and lets you be hands on with your project. However, it is extremely tedious and doing a large, serious stop motion would be an enormous project. Ideas:
1.* Kiss on the cheek. Have one subject leaning in to kiss on the cheek on a loop. 2. Cutting a piece of hair, scissors constantly moving. 3. Milk pouring into a cup. 4. Balloon blowing up. 5. Sparkler drawing something. 1. I picked a fruit theme for my patterns because they have a nice variety of colors and textures to mix together in a pattern.
2. My favorite pattern is my show stopper pattern, because it has lots of different things to look at and is eye catching. The pattern isn't quite as structured, so it's more interesting to analyze. 3. I found the traditional mediums aspect difficult, because I struggle with traditional art. It was fun to practice and get better though! 4. I would recommend drawing your pictures in black ink, because it makes it a lot easier once you try to digitize things. I didn't do this at first, and I had to go back through and redo it. 1. Inspiration: I love fruit, and I like how it has a variety of colors and textures to work with. I thought it would make a cool pattern!
2. My plan is to continue digitizing my images (I have five in total). I want to play around with different types of patterns, and probably will have the pear be the focal point of my pattern. 3. I started by doing several sketches of fruit (it took a couple days to get all of them how I wanted them to look). I took a picture of each one and have been working on filling them in using the paint bucket tool. 1. I used colored pencils as my traditional medium to draw the mugs.
2. I liked the idea of using "warm wishes" as my message, and hot cocoa matched that idea. I drew hot cocoa mugs with colored pencils, and use photoshop to add the warm wishes and the outline. 3. I am not a great artist, and the traditional medium was difficult for me. I struggled with erasing the borders off of the mugs, and there are spots on my finished piece that should not be there. 4. I liked the colors I used and how I tied together the idea of "warm wishes" and hot chocolate. 1. I picked the product that I did because the idea of creating "blood" for vampires was interesting to me, and something like that could easily be put into a can.
